Nursery / ELC
Buchanhaven ELC is open from 08:15 – 17:30 at present and we offer places for 64 children. Children attend morning and afternoons and hopefully moving forward we will be able to be open 08:00 – 18:00. From August 2021 we will be able to offer 1140 hours which will be 50 weeks of the year but depending on COVID guidelines we may not be able to mix bubbles. The 1140 hours will be 08:00 – 13:00, 13:00 – 18:00 or 08:00 – 18:00. Children who attend morning sessions will get a lunch similar to a school meal and both sessions will get a healthy snack. Our setting was fully refurbished in October 2020.

At Buchanhaven ELC we constantly strive to strengthen partnerships with parents/carers and the community. At Buchanhaven ELC we operate a key worker system. Your child will be allocated a member of staff who will have a specific role to support their progress throughout the settling to enhance their learning and holistic development. The key worker will make regular contact with parents/carers to discuss their child’s development and learning. Your child will have an individual learning journey portfolio that you can access and add to at any time. Every child at Buchanhaven ELC is important to us and we endeavour to create meaningful opportunities for them to achieve success in a happy, safe, stimulating and nurturing environment.
